Purpose of the Role
Visitor Host Volunteers are the welcoming face of the Hundertwasser Art Centre. They create a warm and inviting atmosphere for our guests and provide information about our exhibitions and activities. This role is central to supporting Hundertwasser’s vision of creativity, community and sustainability by connecting people through art, architecture and nature.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and welcome visitors, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed.
Provide basic information about Hundertwasser, the Wairau Māori Art Gallery, our exhibitions, events, workshops and facilities.
Assist visitors with accessibility needs to navigate the different spaces in the Centre.
Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed and report any issues to staff.
Act as a positive ambassador for the Hundertwasser Art Centre with Wairau Māori Art Gallery.
Skills and Attributes
Friendly, approachable and confident engaging with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Interest in art, culture, architecture, nature and Hundertwasser’s vision.
Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
Reliable, flexible and able to work as part of a team.
Commitment to supporting a welcoming and inclusive visitor experience.
Time Commitment
The Centre is open seven days a week, 10am – 4pm.
Flexible shifts to suit your availability — whether occasional or regular.
