Help create successful pollination in your garden. Do you know there are about a dozen native butterfly species and over 1800 native moth species in New Zealand? And there are 41 species of native bee (28 native and 13 introduced) in New Zealand. One way to help create a Pollinator friendly garden is to create over-wintering places and shelter – hence ‘Bug Hotels’ or ‘Pollinator Palace’.
“On my grass roof in Vienna, I have seen and photographed bees, butterflies, beetles, blackbirds, and even a wild duck breeding its eggs”, (Hundertwasser 2004).
